The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces has reported a strike on the Port Olya-4 ship in Russia’s Astrakhan region. Preliminary information indicates that the vessel Port Olya-4 (IMO 9481934) – which had been used to transport artillery ammunition and components for Shahed drones – was hit. Initially, Russian authorities and the Defense Ministry in Moscow made no mention of the attack. Later, however, Astrakhan region governor Igor Babushkin confirmed that the port in the Caspian sea had been struck, claiming that a vessel had been damaged by “debris from a downed UAV.” OSINT analysts have confirmed the ship that was hit was indeed the Port Olya-4.

Data from Starboard Maritime Intelligence analyzed by The Insider shows that the ship regularly sails across the Caspian Sea, carrying cargo between Russia and Iran.

The Port Olya-4 is owned by MG-Flot (formerly Transmorflot), a company that is under international sanctions. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the firm is linked to Astrakhan businessman Jamaldin Pashayev, whose entities supply the Alabuga Special Economic Zone — a key facility assembling drones for Russia’s Defense Ministry with Iranian support.
