Ukraine’s HUR military intelligence agency has released detailed information about the components of a new Russian drone model. The CBTS.611000 (ЦБТС.611000), which closely resembles Iranian-designed Shahed kamikaze drones, is being produced domestically in Russia under the “Geran” label. However, the drone uses a two-stroke gasoline “model airplane” engine, the DLE-60, which is manufactured by the Chinese firm Mile Haoxiang Technology.
The Insider found that 400 of these engines were purchased by the firm LLC OTT, a company that is already under U.S. sanctions and which was previously profiled in one of our investigations. Other recipients of the Chinese-made engines include retail and logistics firms such as Mashimport («Машимпорт»), Stal Est («Сталь Эст»), Varkom («Варком»), Yugmettrade («Югметтрейд»), and Engineering Bureau («Инжиниринговое бюро»), as well as logistics companies like OTT and STS-Logistika («СТС-Логистика»). The purchases were made on behalf of Chelyabinsk-based LLC SNK Trade (ООО «СНК Трейд»), led by Sergey Kashchenko.
In 2025, more than 200 gasoline-powered model aircraft engines from Mile Haoxiang Technology were also delivered to Yekaterinburg-based company LLC Stroyindustriya. According to technical specifications, the DLE-60 is a single-cylinder, two-stroke gasoline internal combustion engine with an output of 4.05 kW and a displacement of 55.6 cm³, designed for competitive model aircraft.
The Chinese company Mile Hao Xiang Technology was placed under U.S. sanctions in June 2024 for supplying dual-use components to Russia. DLE engines had previously been used in Russian UAVs such as the Gerbera and Parodiya decoy drones, while KST servo components were used in the Shahed-136 (Geran-2) and V2U drones, and also in guided bomb modules and correction systems.
The Russian CBTS.611000 drone features a delta-wing fuselage similar to the Shahed-136 (Geran-2), but the new aircraft is significantly smaller. All of its parts and subsystems are of Chinese origin. In addition to the DLE-60 engine, the drone contains navigation modules, flight controllers, servos, and other components produced by Chinese companies including CUAV Technology, KST Digital Technology, Foxeer Technology, and others.
